Justin Blinder is a Brooklyn-based creative technologist, researcher, and artist. His work examines how bottom-up, immersive, and poetic approaches to technology can help us to better engage with the built environment and the lived experiences of others.
Justin has developed products and experiences for clients including The New York Times, Verizon, IBM, GE, Qualcomm, Nike, and Comcast, which have won awards from Canne Lions, the Webby Awards, Fast Company, the Clio Awards, D&AD, and more.
His personal projects have been featured in online publications such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, BBC, The Guardian, TechCrunch, RT, VICE, and Fast Company, among others. Justin’s artwork has been exhibited at the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Guggenheim Bilbao, Transmediale, Eyebeam Art & Technology Center, Pioneer Works, and elsewhere. He has given talks on about his projects at various institutions and events, including IDFA, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, and The New School.
Justin is currently a freelance Creative Technologist and a Research Affiliate in the City Science Group at the MIT Media Lab. He was formerly an Eyebeam Honorary Fellow and NEW INC Member. He holds a Master’s in Media Arts and Sciences from the MIT Media Lab, and a BFA in Design and Technology from Parsons.
