Freedom Radio
Freedom Radio (in development) is a series of vocal portraits of freedom around the world, crowdsourcing both prompts and responses about freedom and remixing them into a generative sound work. For this project, the Poetic Justice Group at the MIT Media Lab partnered with the House of Mandela Family Foundation to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s release from prison. Currently, it features over 100 samples of people asking and answering questions about freedom, sourced primarily from public audiences in the US. You can participate in the US by calling 844-335-3588 (<10 mins).
